Businesses Input into City Plans

It was great to see a full house at the Planning for Prosperity session held this week in Airdrie.
We’re always impressed with the active role Airdrie businesses are willing to play in building their community.

Mayor Peter Brown welcomes more than 60 people to the
Planning for Prosperity session
The forum for business owners and managers was held to share the City of Airdrie Planning Department’s strategies to manage and plan for future growth. This included an introduction to the concepts that are being proposed for a new City Plan and Land Use Bylaw.
The group also heard an overview of the AirdrieONE Sustainability Plan, which was adopted by City Council in 2012. AirdrieONE is the high-level overarching document that guides our community into the future and it’s worth a read (really, check it out!).
Over the coming months, businesses will continue to have an opportunity to provide their feedback on these important documents.  Open houses are in the works, as well as another information and input session like the one held earlier this week. Stay tuned and stay connected – your feedback is important.

In the meantime, feel free to contact us with your comments or post one below.
